Art & Art History Department – Dickinson College                           August 2009 – Present

Visual Resources Curator

  • Develop Mission, Vision, Strategic Plan and Disaster Plan for Visual Resources Center
  • Initiate, plan and oversee the slide collection migration project from analog to digital using CONTENTdm 6.1
  • Manage over 200,000 slide collection
  • Developed model and process for digitizing images for Art and Art History Department’s usage; including Faculty teaching and student usage for image presentations, exams, and quizzes
  • Individual and group reference ARTstor instruction with Art and Art History faculty and students
  • Individual and class reference instruction for students and faculty
  • Oversee two to three student employees for large-scale digital scanning project throughout the academic year: August-May
  • Liaison between all Dickinson College Departments and Visual Resources Center regarding image curricula development, visual literacy and Digital Humanities Projects
  • Research and liaise to purchase equipment for VRC and teaching classrooms: hardware and software
  • Initiated and spearheaded renovations for Visual Resources Center, and Art and Art History Department Study Hallway
    • Collaborated with Facilities and Maintenance regarding furniture, signage, and flooring
  • Attend and present issues at Department meetings

    • Serve as VRC Committee Coordinator
  • Liaise with Faculty regarding instructional presentation systems and best practices: bridging gaps with blogs, wikis, web 2.0 platforms, and mobile hardware and software
  • Spearheaded, implemented and developed web pages for Dickinson’s Art and Art History Department website
  • Update Art and Art History Department News and Events Blog and Visual Resources Center site
  • Developed and update Dickinson Art and Art History events and resources blog: Wordpress and Twitter feed
  • Produced presentation for Art and Art History Department regarding which web based image databases to utilize (various IMDB systems)
  • Advise and streamline library acquisitions, e-journals, e-databases with Art Librarian liaison.
  • Co-curated exhibition, Reanimation Library: Carlisle Borough Branch, with Department Chair and Director of Goodyear Gallery: hosted artist, poster and postcard production, obtained equipment and furniture (October 5th – November 6th  2010)
  • Keep record of VRC’s spending and annual academic budget


Walter C. Koerner Library – UBC                                                           September 2008 – April 2009

Graduate Academic Assistant

  • Researched multiple projects including off-site storage facilities, performance review materials, professional development, administrative manuals, Second International m-Libraries 2009 Conference, and consortia organizations, members and associations of UBC libraries
  • Retrieved and provided statistical data for circulation and professional development
  • Responded to faculty and patron questions and comments regarding Borrower Services and Circulation information
  • Assisted in planning and developing the Second International m-Libraries 2009 Conference web project, including research on past websites and retrieving images, text, and graphics accordingly to copyright standards, and work with Second International m-Libraries 2009 Conference committee members
  • Provided one-on-one tutorials regarding administrative manual production


Art History Department— SUNY Purchase College                     September – December 2007

Research Assistant

  • Performed extensive research at NYPL, Purchase College Library, Neuberger Museum, and Ronald Feldman Gallery regarding future exhibitions and publications for Professors
  • Compiled and catalogued research documentation for Art History faculty and Neuberger Museum staff
  • Digitized and burned images for future lectures and conferences for Professors
  • Catalogued images and created Power Point presentations using Photoshop Elements

  • Catalogued large collection of art monographs, serials, objects, DVDs on shelves and into Readerware bibliographic software

  • Handled all administrative duties for Director, and other staff; answered phones, handled e-mail and letter correspondence; held daily schedule for Director, organized and distributed mail and shipments
  • Supervised student workers and supported all staff and outside visitors with travel services and reimbursements, including keeping track of maximum dollar amount usage
  • Organized and filed Director’s and American Curator’s documentation
  • Greeted incoming visitors for the Director
