Green Chili Cheddar Cheese Cornbread

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1 cup all purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1/4 cup sugar

1 (heaping) cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

1 4-oz can diced green chilies

2 eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 stick butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add the chilies, buttermilk, eggs and melted butter and mix well to combine.

Pour batter into a greased 9 inch casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm with honey.
