Welcome to my online portfolio! On these pages, you'll find evidence of some of my accomplishments, which may lead you to discern my strengths and how I have been able to help organizations fulfill their goals. I am confident that I would have a positive impact in most environments and industries. I was featured in the July/August 2015 Associations Now article, highlighting three of the many lessons I've learned in this current position. I am a...
senior nonprofit executive with a spectrum of leadership and managerial experience, who has
investigated, implemented and managed membership systems and who is
committed to demonstrating membership return-on-investment and benefits and who
has the discipline to work alone and great experiences working on teams and who
plans conferences and trade shows and who has
enhanced organizational effectiveness by building great relationships with volunteers and volunteer leaders and who has
created and delivered research, training and professional development in complex nonprofits, associations and academic settings, who is
entrepreneurial, usually as the first in each position she's held, though that isn't a stated preference, who is
adept at developing and presenting educational opportunities, and who excels at
written and oral communication.
The only overarching theme to my diverse career is that I LOVE helping people help themselves - by giving them perspective about their value and by providing opportunities for them to express their best selves.
I am thrilled to be resident of Nashville, Tennessee; and I have also lived (happily) in Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; and Washington, DC. My community involvement scope includes prevention of disease and abuse, education and personal advocacy. I was on the Board of a clinic that helps children who may have been sexually abused, am currently Treasurer on the Board of the Tennessee Society for Association Executives, and really enjoy packing bags and boxes for Second Harvest Food Bank with my daughter.
