I am not going to assign grades, but I will tell you about my experience with each. Overall, I am sooo happy with the choices we made for our wedding!
Cescaphe Ballroom (reception) - I can not say enough wonderful things about Cescaphe. I had high expectations and they exceeded my expectations. Kelly and Michael were wonderful the day of the wedding (and Kelly was also fantastic in the planning process). Everything was perfect. They took care of all the details and I didn't worry about a thing the whole night! The food and drinks were fantastic, our cake was beautiful and the whole place was just awesome!! For cocktail hour we had 3 signature drinks...and they were really good!!! We had the hibachi grill, sushi station, and pasta station, as well as tons and tons of seafood and butlered appetizers. They made sure that they knew what we liked and they brought a plate of appetizers to our bridal suite when we got there, before we made it down for cocktail hour. It was so delicious and nice to try a bit of the food because we didn't have ANY when we were mingling around! Kelly and Michael were constantly making sure we didn't need anything and they told us where to be and what to do at all times. It really made it easy. Also, Kelly catered to our parents by bringing them their favorite drinks and appetizers. Our sparkler entrance was so much fun..people loved it! The room looked gorgeous and everyone raved about their dinners. When it came time for dessert, people were floored! Michael brought us up prior to the start of dessert so we could see everything set up: funnel cake, choc. fountain, bananas foster, etc... We elected to have the cheesesteaks and soft pretzels when guests were leaving and it was a nice surprise. I got way more compliments on that than I thought! It was nice that the total event was 6 hours. We had time to see everyone and plenty of time for dancing! Overall, I would do it all at Cescaphe again in a heartbeat. I have nothing negative at all to say. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Il Fiore Bianco (florist) - We worked with Alicia from Il Fiore Bianco and she was absolutely fantastic! She is the in-house florist at Cescaphe, but you don't have to use her. Well, I'm so glad we did! Alicia really knows the room and knows what works. I discussed with her what I wanted and was amazed that on the wedding day it was EXACTLY as I imagined! I was so thrilled when they delivered the bouquets in the morning. They were just beautiful! I loved my bouquet so much. Alicia also did our pin-spotting (which added another dimension to the room...totally worth it in my opinion), our gobo (we designed it and emailed the jpeg to her to create it. She will also design it for you if you would like), our linens, and the sparklers for our entrance (which you can also book through Cescaphe directly). I highly recommend Alicia. She is so sweet and she asked many questions and was very thorough to make sure she understood my vision. She definitely got it right!
The Heartbeats (band) - I was so excited about having the Heartbeats play at our wedding! Being a musician myself, I was very picky and went to many showcases. The Heartbeats were amazing!! We got so many compliments on how good they were from people of all ages! We had the piano and sax for the cocktail hour and then the full band for the reception. Nick, the band leader did all of the introductions and really kept the crowd going. We actually had a full dance floor before the salad course was served. I totally trusted all of his suggestions and told them that the playlist was at their discretion. They chose all the right music. The dance floor was never empty and we had such a fun time!! I am still getting comments about how great they were!!!
Alison Conklin (photographer) - what can I say, I just adore Alison. She is the sweetest person and so unbelievable talented! After seeing our engagement photos we knew that our wedding pictures would be great. We elected to have a second shooter (Alison's husband Geoff - who is equally as awesome) and I'm glad we did. Between the two of them, they got so many different angles and perspectives of the same thing. We haven't gotten all of our photos back yet, just the teasers, but I'm confident they will be great! I will complete the review upon receiving all the photos
Tangerine Media Group (video) - We fell in love with their work from the beginning and booked 2 years out! Drew and his wife Alyca are so wonderful and creative. Drew was our main videographer and we also had a second videographer to capture everything. Drew is just the nicest person. He is very unobtrusive, no big lights, etc an that's what we wanted. If I wasn't looking for him, I wouldn't have noticed him, he was that good! I will complete the review upon receiving the DVD.
Sal Scinto (wedding mass piano/vocals) - Sal is a very good friend of mine. I knew I could trust him to do an awesome job with the music at our wedding mass. He coordinated with the instrumentalists, which made my job easy. We wanted a mix of contemporary as well as traditional/classical and Sal does it all. We got tons of compliments on the music!
Bridal Garden (dress) - After a ton of dress shopping, I thought I found "the one" but was still unsure. I decided to go out one more time and make sure. I went to the bridal garden and after the 5th dress, had found mine. It was so gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. The whole process was easy (although I know they sometimes get bad reviews, I had a great experience), my dress came in early, and it fit. The alterations were easy (Cindy was really great). They also altered my veil. It was my Mom's veil from 30 years prior and it was on a headpiece, they took it off and put it on a comb, as well as cleaned and pressed it. It looked so beautiful and was a special part of my day. I also ordered 10 bridesmaid dresses from here. The pricing was affordable ($70 less per dress than the shop down the street). The only negative is that they do not accept returns or exchanges. One of my bridesmaids became pregnant and had to have extensive alterations done (she was 6 months preg. at the time of the wedding). This was, however, told to us from the beginning.
Carmela (Calligraphy) - Carmela is so great! She is an awesome person and her work is beautiful! She did our invitation envelopes as well as our place cards. Her turnaround was so quick and she is very meticulous. Even better, her prices are extremely affordable for the work that she does. Since we printed our invites, as well as the design on our placecards, it was so nice to have Carmela print the names. It saved me a lot of headaches from my printer and it looked so beautiful!
Heather Mussari (hair) - Heather is so sweet! She came to my house the day of the wedding (and for my trial). She made my hair look exactly like the picture I showed her, and she is quick! She is also very affordable. She even stayed 20 minutes extra to help me put my veil in after I was dressed (veil was cathedral length so I could not walk around with it in the morning!). I definitely recommend her. I think she also does make-up.
Jill Fulop (Make-up - from "Face the Occassion") - I loved my make-up! Jill does such a great job. Some of my girls wanted their make-up done and they all looked gorgeous! I had a trial with Jill and she recommended some products to buy for the day of the wedding for touch-ups. She is very quick (each girl was done in a half hour!) and the make-up lasted all day. It showed up well in photos, which was my main concern. I would definitely recommend her.
Finese Embroidery (handkerchiefs) - finese made the handkerchiefs for the grandparents, FOB and MOG. I WISH I would have taken a picture, but things were so crazy before the rehearsal that I forgot!! They were beautiful...everyone loved them! Finese also let me choose different color threads for each one (to match dresses, etc). Turnaround time was so quick and quality was great!!
Dave and Buster's Plymouth Meeting (Rehearsal Dinner) - We had such a fun time at D&B! We worked with Hilary to plan the event and she was great to work with. We rented out one of the rooms...it was right next to the main game room, so it was so convenient. They had audiovisual equipment for us to use (my sister made a slideshow for us). They have set menus to choose from and we found one that we liked but we didn't like the cold salad that was included and they had no problem with us substituting a pasta salad. The food was soooo good. I wasn't expecting it to be anything spectacular, but I was pleasantly surprised! They also let us bring our own dessert and they cut the cakes and served them for us. Overall, great experience. It was different than your typical rehearsal dinner, but everyone had so much fun!!!
Supreme Limousine - we had 2 limos because of the distance from our homes to the church. One did a drop of the guys and one took the girls to the church and then the whole BP jumped in after the mass. Supreme was great to work with from start to finish. The limos were new and very clean/good condition. They were on-time and had directions to each of the locations. The drivers were fantastic. The driver that I worked with helped me with my train and veil before my Dad walked me down the aisle. He opened and closed the church doors, and the best part is that when Chris and I walked out of the church after the mass, he was waiting at the church door for us with 2 glasses of water! It was much appreciated at the end of June! Overall, they were fantastic and I would not hesitate to recommend them!
Clays Creative Corner Bakery (rehearsal dinner cake/groom's cake) - the cakes were so delicious and they did a great job decorating them. The prices were great...i did shop around a bit. I highly recommend them.
