Researcher, educator, plant-o-phile

Jeffery Morawetz is a postdoc at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.

The unifying theme of my research is the evolution of parasitism in plants. Two central goals of my work are to understand how the parasitic habit evolves, and how the evolution of parasitism impacts organisms.

I really like to travel. Thus far my research has taken me on fifteen trips to Africa, and to Oman, China and Mexico.

You can listen to a brief radio interview with me about my trips to the Democratic Republic of the Congo here. This work was sponsored by the National Geographic Society's Committee for Research and Exploration. The clip was featured on National Geographic Weekend.
