The Jeffco Open School garden opens a door to the living world,
allowing students to learn about nature and nutrition, and serves as
an outdoor classroom for experiential learning.

Garden Work Day:

August 25, 2018 9am - 1pm
Lunch provided!

Parents, do your community service in the JCOS garden! Bring your friends! The garden needs many hands to guide its growth and make it an accessible learning environment for our kids. Bring your gloves and favorite weed pulling tools to help create the garden that ought to be! Lunch will be provided.

All levels of our preK-12 community use the garden as a backdrop and inspiration for a variety of lessons and activities, incorporating the garden and the insects it provides into the classroom. In late winter, students start seeds in grow tables and then in the spring, they transplant the seedlings into the garden.
