The Jeffco Open School garden opens a door to the living world,
allowing students to learn about nature and nutrition, and serves as
an outdoor classroom for experiential learning.

The JCOS garden group meets every other Thursday after school. 

Next meeting: April 19, 2018 3:30pm in the garden!

Notes from April 5th meeting:
-The garden is paying Native Earth to fix the  irrigation system.
-Chris will place a seed order for classrooms.
-Seed give-away for families that will help with the school garden!

All levels of our preK-12 community use the garden as a backdrop and inspiration for a variety of lessons and activities, incorporating the garden and the insects it provides into the classroom. In late winter, students start seeds in grow tables and then in the spring, they transplant the seedlings into the garden.
