Anheuser Museum and Estate in Kimmswick, Missouri

The Jefferson County Missouri Business Association is a business organization located in the heart of Jefferson County, in Hillsboro, Missouri. The business association is fully supported by a number of different business establishments and institutions across the county. Among these business establishments is The Anheuser Museum and Estate.

Sited in the heart of the historic river city Kimmswick in Jefferson County, Missouri, and about 25 miles south of St. Louis, the Anheuser Museum and Estate is quite historic. This 23-acre real estate was originally gifted to husband and wife Fred and Mabel Ruth Anheuser by W. Fred Anheuser in the 1940’s, the great grandson of Eberhard Anheuser, founder of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company. Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company is known as the producer of the world-renowned beer, Budweiser.

In 1984, Fred Anheuser passed away, and was followed in 2000, by his wife, Mabel Ruth. Prior to Mabel Ruth’s death, she and her heirs have donated the river estate also popularly known as “Fredmar Farms” to the City of Kimmswick in Missouri, leaving a slice of history for the public to see. The Anheuser family’s heirlooms, portraits, and antique collections have been preserved for viewing. Aside from those, brewery artifacts and other memorabilia can also be seen at the pristine estate-turned-historical museum.

Other than being a historic museum, The Anheuser Museum and Estate can also be an excellent venue for weddings due to its intimate ambience and location. Other occasions such as graduation parties, birthday parties, and any other special events can also be hosted at the property.

The historic Anheuser Estate is open to the public during these dates:

April through November every year:

Thursdays - 12:00 NN to 4:00 PM

Saturdays - by appointment only

Admission is priced at $5 per person, in which all proceeds go to the Anheuser trust fund and maintenance of the property. No reservations are necessary as walk-ins are welcome once a week. Saturday visits require scheduled appointments, as well as group and guided tours.
