Sitcom Writing - Sketch Comedy - Film
Jeff Burdick is a Burbank, Calif.-based comedy writer with a background in journalism, advertising and PR writing.
In 2014, Jeff's original sitcom concept “Ex-Pats” finished in second place in Script Pipeline’s Great TV Show Idea Contest, and last year, he completed two full-length comedy screenplays. One is “Elf Storage,” an animated action-comedy that was named Top 10 finalist in the Page Awards for Family Film. The other is the adult comedy “Madam President,” for which a live reading was staged in October 2013.
In 2012, Jeff was selected by former West Wing Producer John Wells as a finalist in “America’s Newest Comedy Writer Contest” for Jeff's original sitcom pilot called “Living Beyond Our Means.” The script was subsequently optioned by the ANA Family Entertainment Alliance. (See news release.)
His second original sitcom pilot, “Cemetery Sisters” was a Top 25 Semifinalist in the 2013 Page Awards for Sitcom Pilots.
He has written several TV spec scripts, studied comedy writing at The Second City and iO Chicago, created the FluffingtonPost humor blog, authors the #OnThisDate “Almost Accurate Almanac” on Twitter. (New
