Sitcom Writing - Sketch Comedy - Film Jeff Burdick is a Burbank, Calif.-based comedy writer with a background in journalism and advertising. He is repped by Michael Lewis of Michael Lewis & Assocs. Jeff authors the “Almost Accurate Almanac” comedy feature on Twitter, has contributed to the Young Turks Network, and created the Fluffington Post fake-news blog on the Tribune Company’s ChicagoNow.com site. Many of his original TV and feature scripts have been contest finalists. This includes his original cable pilot “Ex-Pats” (Script Pipeline’s Great TV Show Idea Contest), “Living Beyond Our Means," (“America’s Newest Comedy Writer Contest”), and his animated feature comedy “Elf Storage” (Top 10 finalist in the Page Awards). ![]() In 2015, Jeff also created and produced “The Cold Cut,” Hollywood’s first live TV comedy writer competition. Co-sponsored by The Black List, the sold-out event staged performances of opening scenes from 9 original TV comedy pilot scripts. The event led to auditions and representation for many of the featured writers and actors. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, he studied comedy writing at The Second City in Chicago, iO and UCLA. He has also written one novel.
