Sitcom Writing - Sketch Comedy - Film

Jeff Burdick is a Burbank, Calif.-based comedy writer with a background in journalism and advertising. He is repped by Michael Lewis of Michael Lewis & Assocs.

His original TV pilot scripts and feature comedies have been finalists in numerous contests. This includes his original  cable pilot “Ex-Pats,” finished second in Script Pipeline’s Great TV Show Idea Contest, and “Living Beyond Our Means,” was a finalist

in “America’s Newest Comedy Writer Contest” and optioned through John Wells Productions (Shameless, ER, West Wing).  His animated feature comedy script “Elf Storage” was also a Top 10 finalist in the Page Awards. Jeff  authors the “Almost Accurate Almanac” on Twitter, contributed to comedy videos on the Young Turks Network, and created the Fluffington Post humor blog

He is also the creator and producer of unique live TV comedy pilot competition called “The Cold Cut.” Co-sponsored by the Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance and The Black List, the June 3rd event will pit staged performances of Cold Opens from 9 original TV pilot scripts. Then Battle of the

Bands-style, the audiece will vote for its favorite, which received a immediate full script read and other prizes.
A graduate of the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and has later comedy at The Second City, iO and UCLA. He also writes, directs and produces comedy shorts and has written one novel.
