Chapter 1

posted Sep 12, 2011, 9:13 AM by Joy Lauer
While reading chapter one, I realized that technology has changed a lot in the past years.  We used to just go from house to house to talk to people, and send snail mail.  Now we use the internet and our cell phones for any socializing.  I realized that technology is a huge part of life.  Everyday we are using our cell phones for texting.
Another huge part of today is the media.  We get most of the political information, news, entertainment, weather, and more from the media, even though the media isn't always right, like it says in chapter one, "The media is like our immune system. If it overreacts to everything, we actually get sicker.... or eczema."  Culture today is based on what we do everyday, including what we do and what we watch.
