Chapter 1: Species

Below is an ever-expanding catalogue of the various species, sentient or otherwise, that presently comprise the population of the Planetary Coalition (PlanCo).  Due to the extensive amount of data that requires analysis, this work will be under constant construction.  If you have any suggested corrections, or additional data, please contact the editor.

Note that all names referenced below are listed in PlanCo basic speech, and do not reflect the native pronunciation or general spelling.

Planet of Origin*: Asteria

Physical Description: On average standing six and a half micro milecs (microms) on a slim frame, but varying significantly across their planet, their general physiology is composed of two legs, two arms, with no noticeable hair growth and a head highlighted by three black eyes.  Their skin is completely blue, developed from a trace element in their water system.

Notes: Equipped as well with uncanny wit and of sharp mind, Asters love to show off both, more so if at the expense of other unsuspecting species.  One of the earlier species in PlanCo regions to develop safe and efficient interstellar travel. About the only thing than is more renowned than their combination of humor and technology is their nearly insatiable sexual drive… to the dismay of most of the intended recipients of their affection.

Autonomous Robots

Planet of Origin*: n/a

Physical Description: Autonomous robots have been fabricated in an extensive amount of shapes and sizes that are too numerous to describe in an abridged manner.  Typically, they are built to assume the physical characteristics of their intended organic masters.

Notes:  Also known as autonobots, or simply ‘bots. Although similar in appearance and function to standard-order robots, autonobots are able to gather and evaluate information about their environment then adapt accordingly.  They can function for extended periods without intervention and are outfitted for self-diagnosis and maintenance.  Programmed to follow the standard laws of robotics, they willingly and efficiently perform any and all tasks set out before them

Planet of Origin*: Genam 4

Physical Description: A two-arm torso that sits on top a pair of thick legs defines their anatomy.  Adults stand between seven and eight microms tall, with dark red skin and two large horns that extend from their skulls, which serve to radiate their body heat. Their muscles are extremely strong, hard and dense, limiting their need of clothing for protective reasons.

Notes:  One of the various, diverse species that inhabit Genam 4, Cafidons were the only group who desired to venture outside the boundaries of their planet.  The sum can be described as aggressive by nature, and with a thirst of power and financial advancement. Cafidons wear nominal attire strictly for cultural and social meaning, as well as for minimal consideration to the sensitivities of other species.

Planet of Origin*: Ginrii

Physical Description: A large, translucent skull sits atop a thin, bipedal frame that reaches, on average, four and a half micros. A pair of sacs located on their face constitutes their visual organs.  These sacs will change in color based on the individual’s mood.  Respiratory systems consumes an Argon gas mix.

Notes: The foremost experts in thermodynamics and propulsion, and builders of the most efficient engines the known galaxy has ever seen, Ginrun scientists are sought after by every technical think-tank, commercial population transports company and military aviation unit in the Planetary Coalition.  Their XX11 engine was their first to achieve near-light speed. The development of the XJ9 ‘Ultra’ engine, allowing for faster-than-light travel, revolutionized interstellar flight in the Sector.

Planet of Origin*: Undocumented

Physical Description: Insufficient for detailed, species-wide description

Notes: Only one confirmed to exist, and rumored to have received artifical enhancements. Details are limited.  Approach with caution.

Planet of Origin*: Nisco

Physical Description: Bipedal with two upper limbs, and with their visual, nasal, oral and auditory organs on their head, with smooth, green skin and a very dense amount of bright yellow strands coming from their heads.  The specific hue and color intensitiy of these body parts various depending on genetic traits as well as environmental conditions during their early development.

Notes:  Data on the species is limited and most of what is understood of them comes from those individuals that have left their homeworld.  Did not to accept invitation for PlanCo membership, and grant restricted access to visitors.  Efficient and systematic, but also intensly passionate, they possess nearly a bipolar type of personality.  Taking great pride in their anatomical appearance, both females and males prefer to wear provocative, scantily clad apparel.

Planet of Origin*: Orlon

Physical Description: Recognizable by their thick and slimy, streamlined bodies, which on average reach a maximum height of four microms, and are a variety of gray and beige colors. Ortep facial structure consists of one large visual organ with an oval shape, and stretching almost the entire width of their heads. They have no discernible legs and have five elongated appendages that serve as arms.

Notes: There are ten different subspecies of Orteps, populating all landmasses on Orlon. Renowned for their extreme attention to detail and meticulous ways, they excel at the myriad of complex logistical and administrative tasks.  This has led to Orteps being found on most personnel rosters of PlanCo Class-C and larger starships, where their services in those types of tasks are extremely valuable.

Planet of Origin*: Raumedia

Physical Description: Possessing of a pronounced snout and long protruding teeth, combined with sharp-clawed hands on a pair of upper-body arms.  Lower trunk is composed of four strong legs that are used primarily for location, but that dexterous enough to perform other complex physical functions.

Notes:  A contradictory combination of cool, focused demeanor along with fierce bursts of savage instincts.  Developed into logical thinkers and efficient problem solvers as well as ferocious predators in order to survive the oppressive tropical jungles of their home planet. Raumader respiratory system generates a gaseous chemical compound that, if inhaled by species not native to Raumedia, can lead to significant toxicity of the central nervous system and heart.

Planet of Origin*: Tacrusia 6

Physical Description: Average adult male measures about 5.5 micros.  Grow in height very slowly yet never stop.  They posses two arms with multi-jointed claw-like ends, four swimmerets along the sides of their torsos and two legs.  Their exoskeleton, generated through evolution in the depths of the immense oceans of their home planet allows them to survive under extreme pressures and cold temperatures.

Notes: Widely considered some of the best close combat specialists in the Sector, the Tacrusians thrive on battle and are highly sought after as ship’s weapons and security officers on one side of the law, and as bounty hunters and ‘private’ debt collectors on the other.  A side effect of their evolution was that having evolved in areas with very little solar illumination, they became extremely sensitive to most lighting sources not naturally-occurring to their surroundings.
