06.09.2012–Present: Associate Professor, Centre for Studies in Economics & Planning, Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

Duties: Teaching and supervising M.Phil/Ph.D. students and undertaking research activities in the area of regional developments. Contributing/contributed to the University in various capacities over varying periods handling the responsibilities of Chairperson of the Centre, Proctor, Deans of Students Welfare, Central Public Information Officer, and as a Member of the Academic Council, Project Steering Committee, Zero Semester Committee, and the Member Secretary of the University Level Purchase & Maintenance Committee. Till now publication includes 3 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 2 working papers.     

01.04.2011–05.09.2012: Associate Professor, Department of Economic Studies & Planning, Central University of Karnataka, Gulbarga, Karnataka, India.

Duties: As the Coordinator and Chairman of the Board of Studies of the Dept., managed its administrative and academic activities and contributed in evolving the course structure for Ph.D., M.A. and Integrated M.A. in economics with the preparation of relevant syllabus. In addition to the research, teaching and assessment works related to the internal, end-semester and entrance examinations, actively participated in the overall institutional development of the University in various capacities like the Convener, Committee to devise API  format; the Member, Ad-hoc Board of Research Studies, CUK; the Member, Library Committee, CUK; Member, Free-Ships Committee, School of Business Studies, CUK. The ICSSR funded research project, Regional Patterns of Firms’ Internationalization in India was accomplished during this period. Further, guest edited 2 special issues of two international journals, published 7 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 1 working paper.    

05.01.2009­–30.03.2011: Associate Professor, Sardar Patel Institute of Economic & Social Research, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

Duties: Carried out a number of independent research studies and initiated an ICSSR supported project on Regional Patterns of Firms’ Internationalization in India. Research contribution includes: 1 co-edited volume with Palgrave Macmillan, 1 guest coedited special issue of an international journal, 12 articles in peer reviewed international journals, 4 book chapters, acted as referee for 10 articles for 8 international journals, presented in a number of international conferences. As the first Convener of the SPIESR Working Paper Committee did the ground work and coordination for the starting of the SPIESR-WP series. 

01.12.2005–31.12.2008: Assistant Professor, Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi, India.

Duties: Complemented ISID’s research programmes related to foreign investment and industry studies. Contributed 2 books, 4 articles in peer reviewed journals, 3 book chapters, 14 ISID Working Papers, reviewed 2 papers for 2 international journals, and presented papers in a number of international conferences. Also had the opportunity to contribute to the ISID Working Paper as being a member ISID Working Paper Committee. Completed one project on Small Pharmaceutical Firms sponsored by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.

 

13.10.2004–06.11.2005: Assistant Professor, Gujarat Institute of Development Research, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

Duties: Completed a consultancy project on Outward FDI by Indian SMEs supported by the UNCTAD and contributed to an IDPAD project on Globalization and Informalization. Brought out a co-edited volume, 6 research papers in referred journals, 2 book chapters, and 3 GIDR Working Papers. Worked as a member of the Committee for Developing the Course Material for M.Phil. Programme on Development Economics at the Institute.

 

18.09.2001–30.09.2002 & 13.01.2003–31.07.2003: Consultant, Research and Information System for Developing Countries, New Delhi, India.

Duties: Conduct studies related to the project on International Competitiveness in Knowledge-based Industries sponsored by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Beside, contributed a background study on Foreign Direct Investment, Externalities and Economic Growth for the Global Development Finance 2002, World Bank. Academic contribution made includes: 1 CMDR monographs, 3 articles in referred journals, and 5 RIS discussion papers.
