Jason Ross Arnold, Ph.D., is Chair and Associate Professor of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). In addition to articles about social media disinformation, uninformed citizens, and other subjects, he has published two books: Secrecy in the Sunshine Era: The Promise and Failures of U.S. Open Government Laws; and Whistleblowers, Leakers, and Their Networks, from Snowden to Samizdat

 His current research interests include surveillance, foreign influence operations, counterintelligence, and the governance of emerging technologies.

He earned a PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota.
