The koto, a 7-foot long 13-stringed harp, is the national musical instrument of Japan. Masami Morimoto, a student of the Sawai Tadao Koto Academy, will introduce us to this beautiful instrument, its history, construction, music, and place in Japanese culture. Masami will perform a musical arrangement and provide the audience members with a unique hands-on opportunity to play the koto.
