Bring Secrets of the Heart and One World Drum Circle Back to Anza!
Through a partnership with Dream a World Education and the Herb Alpert Foundation we have been able to provide our Kindergartners with a tremendous to launch their school year. The Secrets of the Heart Program teaches our children all about the values of Love, Friendship, Gratitude and more through storytelling, art, dance, drama, and drums while exploring different cultures and geography.
This past year we were also to provide the One World Drum Circles to all of our 1st graders. This program allowed our children to continue their journey around the world and their exposure to cultural understanding.
Now we need your help to keep these programs at Anza. We encourage you to please visit the sites and if possible please consider a donation. Any amount is welcome.

Anza's Annual Jog-a-Thon
Brush the dust off those running shoes- it’s time for Anza’s Famous Jog-A-Thon. Our PTA & Student Council is bringing back this popular event so mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 12, 2016. It will be even more special if you can join us for this exciting event.
Our annual Jog-A-Thon is important to our school. We want our students to realize the importance of being physically fit. This year our wonderful PTA is using this as their MAIN fundraising activity. The money raised from this event will be used to enhance and enrich our student’s education. It will help support our ongoing technology needs, replace old and worn out P.E. and playground equipment, and fund field trips. Therefore your support really does matter and every bit of money we collect makes a big difference to our school and to your child.
Anza School is “a place where everyone is someone special” because home and school have formed that important partnership. Therefore, for those of you who have been looking for a fun way to volunteer your gift of time, here is your chance. The Jog-A-Thon will be held in the morning and we need volunteers: to help tally laps, serve water, and provide that special encouragement to all our participants. You may go to “Signup.com” at the following link: http://signup.com/go/6ehTbM to sign-up on line OR turn in the bottom portion the sheet that will be sent home soon with your child and we will contact you! Looking forward to a great day!
Greetings from Mr. Paredes
Welcome to the 2016 - 2017 school year. My name is Alberto Paredes and I am extremely excited to be the principal of Juan de Anza School.
I am very eager to meet and get to know the students, parents and families that make up this wonderful community. I am honored to be part of a school that is united around its children. I am especially thrilled to be part of a distinguished group of teachers and staff committed to providing the best possible education for every child in a safe, learning, respectful, and nurturing environment. I am truly fortunate to be part of such a remarkable team.
I strongly believe that it is important for parents, school staff, and students to work together to maintain a positive educational atmosphere in which each student feels safe and secure. I strongly, believe that if we work together, the students at Anza will continue to excel both socially and academically.
For the next few months, I will be doing tons of looking, listening, and learning about Anza. My door is always open and I appreciate your input! I look forward to working with everyone. Together we can continue to lead our students towards a successful future.
