January has written for numerous publications, including The Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, USA Today, Essence magazine and the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She has appeared on local and national
television news programs and talk radio. In addition, she has worked
periodically as an adjunct instructor for journalism courses at the
University of Maryland, College Park. A native of Harrisburg, Pa., January is known for her authoritative reporting on such important issues as racial and socioeconomic health disparities and the latest treatment options for many diseases and conditions. She has moderated panel discussions, hosted workshops and is often asked to give speeches and speak to college and high school students.
January is a graduate of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism and Harrisburg Area Community College. |
