Hearty Spaghetti Sauce

1 pound sausage
1 small onion
1 T minced garlic
3  14.5 ounce cans Italian Stewed Tomatoes
2  8 ounce cans tomato sauce
2 T tomato paste
1 t Italian seasoning
1 t fennel (optional, but very delightful)
2 bay leaves
1 t oregano
pinch red pepper flakes
1/8 t pepper
1 T beef bullion
1 T lemon juice
1 T brown sugar
2 T olive oil
1 t balsamic vinegar

1. Throw the sausage into a large skillet and brown the tasty stuff. Drain the grease.
2. Chop up the onion and garlic and add it to the sausage. Let it saute for about 3-4 minutes.
3. Open the cans of Italian Stewed Tomatoes and blend them in your blender, or with an immersion blender. 
4. Pour the blended tomatoes into the skillet. Add all other ingredients, bring the mixture to a boil.
5.  Reduce the heat to medium low, cover and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
Serve with a pasta of your choosing.
