All about us

In the Iveagh Grounds on the Crumlin Road, in the heart of Dublin 12, St James Gaels has access to a top class set of facilities for all of our teams.

From the excellent flood lit pitch in the Grounds to floodlit training areas and an All weather facility St James Gaels teams lack nothing in terms of facilities. Players have access to gym facilities in the Grounds as well as access to the relaxing atmosphere of the Iveagh Grounds social facilities.

Our juvenile teams also play in the lovely grounds of the Drimnagh Castle secondary school where we try to ensure that our home performances match the fine castle fortress located beside the pitches.

St James Gaels GAA Club invites people of all ages who want to play Gaelic Football to join our Club.

Starting with our Gaels All Stars Academy for 5 to 8 year olds we field teams to cater for all ages including two Adult Men’s teams and an Adult Ladies team.

Our juvenile section welcomes boys and girls of all ages and our trained coaches make sure that everyone, regardless of ability, is given the opportunity to develop their Gaelic Football skills in a friendly and fun atmosphere.

Like all GAA Clubs our roots are in the local community. The players on our juvenile teams all grow up and go to school in the locality and these are the children we are developing to fill our Adult teams of the future.

Every year we host one of the premier Under age football competitions in Dublin – The John Humphrey memorial cup for Under 10 footballers. This competition, which showcases the best of the under age talent in the Capital, also helps to raise funds for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children.

As a measure of our commitment to the community our coaches have developed structured links with local schools such as Drimnagh Castle and the Assumption Primary school to promote our activity in the locality
