Joakim Gullstrand
A short bio
As the current Dean of the Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM), I bring a variation of academic and leadership experience to this esteemed role. My journey began in the realm of policy research, focusing on agricultural, food, and rural issues for a decade. I joined Lund University's Department of Economics in 2011 as a Senior Lecturer in International Trade, and within two years, I was honoured to be appointed Professor.
My time at Lund University has been diverse and fulfilling, spanning teaching, research, and advisory roles. I have actively contributed to university committees, addressing critical issues like recruitment, mobility, health, safety, and workplace environment.
I stepped into the role of Dean after significant leadership experiences, including leading the Department of Economics since January 2020. Additionally, I have been a board member of the Mistra Biotech research program at SLU for eight years and a member of the LUSEM faculty board since 2018.
As Dean, my focus is on nurturing a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking academic community at LUSEM. I am passionate about fostering a culture of open dialogue, adaptability, and innovative strategy.
