A short bio
I am the Dean of the Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) and a Professor of International Economics. Since stepping into the role in January 2024, I have been responsible for the school’s strategic development, quality assurance in both research and education, and building stronger connections with corporate and external partners. I am committed to driving change within LUSEM through collegial methods, fostering collaboration and inclusivity across the school.
As part of Lund University’s leadership, I contribute to university-wide governance and strategic initiatives. I am also involved in several steering groups and boards, where I work to enhance interdisciplinary collaborations and strengthen ties between LUSEM and other faculties, supporting innovation and cooperation across disciplines.
My leadership experience spans more than a decade outside academia in a think tank, over 10 years as a professor at Lund University, and four years as the head of the Department of Economics. I have also participated in leadership programmes through Lund University, Universitas 21 (U21), and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD/EQUIS).
I have developed a global network of deans from leading business schools through active involvement in accreditation organisations (EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB), both as part of peer review teams and as an evaluated dean, as well as through hosting and visiting deans from other institutions. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights into quality assurance, strategy, and institutional development in higher education.
