Jae Kyung (JK) Woo received her MMath and PhD degrees from the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Concordia University from September 2010 to July 2011. Following this, she served as an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at Columbia University from July 2011 to June 2012. From July 2012 to June 2017, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong. In July 2017, she joined the School of Risk and Actuarial Studies at the UNSW Business School, UNSW. She has also served as a Nominated Accreditation Actuary at UNSW for 7.5 years (2017-2024)
Her research interests include risk theory, reliability theory, aggregate claim analysis, queueing theory, dependence modelling, and the Bonus-Malus system.
