Travel Opportunities

Several trips are planned for this coming year and next summer that may be of interest to our students.


FRESHMAN MAGNET STUDENT FIELD TRIP TO INDIANAPOLIS - NOVEMBER 21, 2014

Up to 100 Magnet Freshmen are invited to join Dr. Mika as we travel the world by attending the largest pan-ethnic festival in the state - the Indiana International Festival - on Fri. Nov.21 in Indianapolis. We will take two Cardinal coach buses for the day as we learn about cultures and ethnic groups that live in Indiana. Enjoy ethnic foods and cultural shows throughout the day, and get a passport filled with stamps from countries you visit. Fliers and field trip forms have been handed out to all magnet students by their English teachers, and more are available from Dr. Mika in Room 2117. Deadline for registering with $45 payment is October 20.  

 

SPRING BREAK 2015

Toronto & Niagara Falls:

Sophomore magnet students will have an opportunity to travel to Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada during the 2015 Spring Break. Contact Mika Roinila at: mroinila@sbcsc.k12.in.us for more information.

 

SUMMER 2015

BEIJING CHINA

Dr. Mika Roinila will lead a group of students and adults with EF Tours on June 23-30, 2015 to Beijing, China where we will visit the Great Wall of China and immerse ourselves in the Chinese culture. A total of 11 people thus far have signed up for the trip. LONDON-PARIS:

Another exciting adventure is being organized by Mr. Heath Weaver, who will lead a tour to London and Paris in June 17-24, 2015. The group has over 30 travelers enrolled already and will spend three days in London and three days in Paris.
