Graduation Info

2019 Commencement Ceremony Info: (Saturday, June 8, 2019 @ 4:00pm)
JAHS now has its graduation ceremony at the University of Notre Dame's Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.  Here are the important graduation details:

WHEN Saturday, June 8, 2019
TIME:  Commencement will begin promptly at 4:00pm.
WHERE: University of Notre Dame's Joyce Center's Purcell Pavillion (off Angela/Edison Road)
PARKING: Free parking is available in the lots south of the Joyce Center, south of the football stadium, the Bulla Lot, Library lot or at Innovation Park. (CLICK HERE to open a PDF version to print out)

As more information becomes available pertaining to other events and dates surrounding graduation they will be announced via email, social media and posted to our website. 

Ten (10) tickets will be given to each graduate for commencement at graduation practice. Tickets will not be issued to students unless all financial obligations are paid in full (library books, lost books, ID fees, etc). All debts need to be cleared by June 1, 2019. Admission to the commencement is by ticket only. Persons two year olds or older must have a ticket. Students not needing all ten tickets are asked to return them to Mr. Cass in the bookkeepers office in the main hall. Graduates need to report to the Joyce Center's Purcell Pavilion no later than 2:15pm at gate #1 of the Joyce Center.

The graduation ceremony is a formal event and one of the most important moments in a person's life.  It's asked that our graduates and guests refrain from activities that would detract from the dignity of this important event or that would create a distraction for the other guests and graduates. Disruptive noises (including artificial noisemakers) and/or activities will result in removal from the ceremony. 

Appropriate attire under the cap and gown will be a dress shirt, slacks and dark colored socks for young men and dresses or dress slacks for the young women.  Caps and gowns are NOT ALLOWED to be decorated.  Dress shoes or dress sandals can be worn.

2018 Commemorative Yard Sign Ordering:
Order your Class of 2018 yard sign today. We offer two different types: classic eagle and soaring eagle. Both signs will be personalized with your student's first name. The deadline to order is Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:00pm for guaranteed delivery.  Orders will be accepted after that date but delivery cannot be guaranteed by Friday, June 1, 2018.

Net Proceeds from these will benefit the: 
Marching Band's New Uniform Fund Drive.

 This letter outlines the upcoming schedule of events for our graduating seniors.  CLICK HERE

2018 Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony:
This is scheduled for May 23, 2018 from 8:30am - 11:00am in the school auditorium. Parking for parents for this event is on the lot off Wall Street near door #20.  Please enter door 20 as well. 

2018 Senior Punch Reception
This event occurs immediately following the 'Senior Recognition & Awards Ceremony'.  There are light snacks and punch provided for the Seniors and their parents/guests who attend the Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony.  Parents of juniors, sophomores and freshman will serve as hosts and provide the food needed to feed about 600-800 attendees. Food donations are needed and of course help is needed to set up, staff the event itself and clean up after it has ended.

Please note these were taken by Officer David Herron of the South Bend Police Dept in a volunteer capacity. He tried to get pics of all students walking off the stage however there may be some missing. There are also some other pics he was provided by other parents that are included too.
