I am a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Linguistics at Aston University in Birmingham, England. My research focuses on the quantitative analysis of language variation and change. I am especially interested in grammatical and lexical variation in the English language across time and space and the development of new methods for collecting and analysing large corpora of natural language. I also conduct research on authorship attribution and consult on casework as a forensic linguist.

I am very happy to announce that in July 2017 I will be moving to the Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics at the University of Birmingham as a Professorial Fellow in Corpus Linguistics.
