Make 6 petals

Materials: Size 30 crochet cotton
                 Size 10 crochet hook

6-  24" lengths of size 30 crochet cotton Fold each one in half and use for padding cord.

Please note that ch 2 is counted as an hdc

Chain 3, join, chain 2, turn.
Row 1) 7 hdc in ring, chain 2,turn.
Row 2 and Row 4) work 2 hdc in each stitch across (16 ) chain 2, turn.
Row 3 and Rows 5-8) work hdc in each stitch across Chain 2,turn.(rows 5-8 32 sts)
Rows 9-12) hdc, decrease,hdc to within last 3 stitches,decrease, hdc, chain 2, turn.
Rows 13-16) Repeat row 3
Rows 17) Decrease twice at beginning and end of row , chain 2, turn.(20 sts)
Row 18) 9 hdc ,decrease, 9 hdc chain 2, turn
Row 19) 8 hdc, skip one st, 8hdc chain 2, turn
Row 20) 2 sc, 4 hdc,4 dc, 4 hdc, 2 sc. chain 2,turn
Row 21) Repeat row 20 and fasten off.

Holding the folded strands of padding cord next to your work sc into ring formed at the beginning. work sc (over padding cord ) into the sides of the petals , across the top and down the other side.

Construction Details hold 3 petals together overlapping as needed to form a cup then add the 3 remaining petals centering the petals over the area of overlap on the first 3 petals.
