I am Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Department of Economics, Monash University.

I am an applied economist and my research focuses on exploring inequalities in the society and the causes and consequences of these inequalities. My work documents the inequalities based on migration and gender with a particular focus on Australia and India. I show the consequences of these inequalities on fertility, skills and labour market outcomes. My research addresses and contributes to policy relevant issues such as role of immigration in the Australian labour markets, impact of gender-related preferences and occupational choice of becoming a teacher.

I enjoy teaching economics and promoting economics education. I am recipient of Teaching Awards including the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching. I am a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). I am Director of Learning and Teaching in the Department of Economics.
