Welcome to the J/111 Garmin World Championships (31st July to 5th August) hosted by the Island Sailing Club, Cowes

A Message from the Island Sailing Club Commodore Mr Mark Wynter:

The Island Sailing Club is thrilled to be welcoming the J/111 Garmin World Championships to the Island Sailing Club

Having run a very successful J Cup in 2015, all of us at the Island Sailing Club are really looking forward to welcoming the J/111 fleet to their World Championship at the end of July.  Weather permitting, we are sure that we can promise you some truly spectacular racing in the tricky waters of the Solent.  Ashore, we will be working hard to provide you with the best possible hospitality at our club house right on Cowes harbour, the yachting capital of England, and perhaps of Europe too.

At the end of the J/111 world championships Cowes Week takes place, this is the longest running regatta in the world, and after that the RORC’s first Ile d’Ouessant race round Ushant and Wolf Rock.   We are sure that these events will provide unforgettable experiences for all intrepid J/111 sailors.

We wish you fair winds in 2016, and look forward to seeing you all in July.

Mark Wynter
Commodore, Island Sailing Club
