Indianapolis Racer Tryouts to take place August 2014

Please mark your calendars for Racer tryouts to take place August 16-18th at Carmel Ice Skadium. Specific tryout times per level will be announced at a later date. The Indianapolis Racers is an IYHA select program for IYHA house players at Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam levels that wish to play additional competitive games and tournaments.The Indianapolis Racers compete in the Buckeye Travel Hockey League

      *IYHA will notify you by email if you should attend the Call back Tryout.  Please check your email prior to this Call-back session.

Get Ready for the Upcoming Season with Hockey Skills Clinics

The Carmel Ice Skadium is providing a series of PreSeason Hockey Clinics to get players ready for the upcoming season for only $99.  This series of 5 weekly sessions will help players work on stick handling, passing, skating, and game skills.  

Dates:  Tuesday, August 12, 19, 26, September 2, & 9
  • Ages 6-10 from 5:15 - 6:15
  • Ages 11-14 from 6:30 - 7:30

Coaching Applications Available

IYHA Coaching Callout Letter: 

Anyone that wants to coach at any level in IYHA must complete a coaching application. Please be sure to fill out the form completely even if you have previously coached for IYHA or the Indianapolis Racers.

IYHA has determined at this point, its Bantam division is approximately 80% full, Pee Wee is 80% full, Squirt is 70% and Mites 75% full. THIS IS WELL AHEAD OF LAST YEAR'S PACE AT THIS SAME TIME. Don't be left out, pre-register today.

Goalie Clinics Available

Legace Hockey Academy Goalie Training Clinics

Manny Legace is a retired NHL goaltender, Stanley Cup winner, and Olympic Silver-medalist, and current Columbus Bluejackets minor-league goalie coach, Manny Legace, will be coming to Indianapolis to run a series of clinics for CIYHA and Indianapolis-area goalies. Widely respected as one of the top teachers of goaltenders in North America, the CIYHA is pleased and proud to offer these clinics to anyone in our community. We highly recommend that all of the goalies in our program enroll in these clinics.

Shutout Goaltending Clinic

Sundays: June 22, 29, July 13, 20, 27 at the Fishers Forum

Time: 11:15am-1:30pm (on hour on ice, one hour off ice)

Age Levels: Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam

Maximum of 12 goalies

Tony has coached at levels ranging from house through Triple A and H.S. throughout Indiana and Northern Illinois. Tony has offered and assisted with private lessons and goalie clinics throughout Northwest Indiana and Illinois. Tony currently resides in Noblesville and continues to coach goalies offering his knowledge and expertise to goalies of all ages in the Indy area. He was most recently the goalie coach for the Indianapolis Racers Peewee Gold A team in 2013-2014 and Bantam Fisher Falcons.

The IYHA is committed to the overall growth of youth hockey in central Indiana and has joined with all of our partners in youth hockey throughout the metro area to help lay out all of the options for youth hockey players in the upcoming year.
