This event has the aim to show the main activities planned for the celebration of the IYA 2009, but also to show to the public the history of astronomy and the activities of the astronomical societies in Macedonia. Selected people form the astronomical life in Macedonia will do presentations on this event: Gordana Apostolovska, professor in astrophysics at the University of Skopje and SPOC for Macedonia; Vasko Cacanovski, president of the Skopje Astronomical Society; Martin Stojanovski, the coordinator for the IYA National node; Filip Partalovski, student in astrophysics participant at the IYA Ceremony in Paris. Also a representative for the Macedonian Megalith observatory Kokino and the Kumanovo astro-club are expected.

For this special event, a photographic exhibition will be installed in the hall where the event will take place, and there will be many materials that are used for popularization of astronomy. If the weather is good, an observation is planed with the telescopes of the planet Saturn and the comet Lulin that is passing near Earth at that time.
