Welcome to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship!

InterVarsity is an open group of college students from both universities eager to learn more about God...together.  Many love our Small Groups - a place to make friends, have engaging and applicable ible studies, and together do community service and outreaches. We also organize fun events like hiking, apple picking, THE LachFest, an International Student Thanksgiving Dinner, and ice skating on Ottawa's Rideau Canal. Our group is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Jesus and making new friends! So please check out the rest of the website to find times and locations for meetings and events.

Upcoming in IV
Posted 1/19/17

Hey friends!!!

This Week’s Large Group

This Friday we will be once again in Moore House Lounge beginning at 7:00p.  Hope to see you there!  We will begin our “Risk Series” discussing why taking them can be so difficult.  ('Staties' - We sure are looking forward to seeing you next Friday on your turf!!!)

Friday’s Inauguration Prayer Meeting

Before our usual Large Group meeting, there will be a special prayer meeting for our country and leaders on Friday during/after the Presidential Inauguration. Snell B10M will be open for anyone who’s interested from 12-4pm. Remember that God hears our prayers and could do big things through this chapter/campus prayer time!

Got a “Risk” Story?

Everyone loves a good story. But hearing a true story from the person who lived it can be so much more powerful than just hearing a story from someone we don’t know. So we’d like to hear your story, specifically we are looking for stories about when you took a risk for Christ’s sake. This is the theme focusing on this semester and we’d like to get as many individuals involved as possible. If you have a story you’d love to share, either reply to this email, or email Jess or Glen directly.

Glen’s email: glenmewart@gmail.com

Speaking of Risk Taking…

IV is prayerfully considering doing another Photo Scavenger Hunt outreach this semester, Jan. 30 - Feb. 10.  IV members will be receiving a simple questionnaire very soon related to this.  Please take a few minutes to fill it out so we can make important decisions with your input.

Basileia  (A cool Greek word meaning “kingdom,” as in the Kingdom of God.)

Basileia is a week-long, multi-track conference designed so that everyone from our campuses can attend and benefit. Some tracks emphasize leadership training, others Christian discipleship, and others - faith exploration. For all, Basileia is a time to focus on God, spend time in the Bible, deepen your faith, and expand your vision for your life.

Please set aside May 19-25 and plan to join us as our chapter experiences together Basileia ‘17!  Basileia registration opens Jan. 31!

Ministry Partners Are A Blessing, Especially Close Family

You may be aware that Glen has a large network of alumni and friends who consistently are supporting what we do in InterVarsity through prayer. What you don’t know is that Glen would also enjoy sending out his regular updates to your parents so that they can also join those in prayer and hear what our chapter’s been doing on campus. Ask your parents and if they’re interested, and then reply to this email, or email Glen directly, with your parent’s email address and name.
