Welcome!

Welcome to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University!

We are a group of college students from both universities who meet weekly to hang out, develop close friendships, and learn more about God. We meet in various smaller study groups throughout the week to spend time studying the Bible and discussing what it means. We also organize fun events like hiking, apple picking, an International Student Thanksgiving and Easter Dinners, and a barn dance. Our group is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Jesus and making new friends! So please check out the rest of the website to find times and locations for meetings and events.

Upcoming in IV:

Hi InterVarsity!

Can you say PARTY? Yes that is right, as the year is winding down (for the Clarkson students at least) we will be having an end of the year party! But first, a few reminders….

BASILEIA  Do you love the outdoors? Do you love Jesus? Do you want to learn more about our amazing God while in fellowship with others? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, COME TO BASILEIA! Many from our chapter are already signed up including Jess, Melanie, Marissa, Jordan, Beverly, JJ, Maddie, and Xzavier.  Basileia is a great way to start your summer by experiencing God in a refreshing and transformational way! It’s also an amazing opportunity to spend time in the beautiful Adirondacks while furthering your relationship with friends from the chapter.  Some of us are going May 14-19 and others are attending May 21-26.  We are encouraging you, and all your friends to come with us to Basileia for spiritual growth, leadership development, biblical training, tremendous worship, great fellowship, and crazy fun recreation!  Check out this video!

CLARKSON STUDENTS: Sign-up for Work Crew at Basileia either Week 0 and/or Week 1 (at NO COST to you!) and receive $200 off either your cost of attending Basileia Week 2 or to help someone else from our chapter.

Summer Positions: If you don’t have a job for the summer and are looking for an adventure, here are some positions for you!

Camp Mandaville is looking for staff for their summer camp program. They’re in need of  2 male/2 female counseling staff (18 yrs or older). It’s a 7 week program for 1st-12th graders starting June 27th. Interested? Contact Bob Emmett (he came and shared at IV one Friday this semester) at director@campmandaville.org or go the Mandaville website - www.mandaville.org - for a downloadable application.

Beaver Cross is a camp for Albany Diocese of the Episcopal church and is looking for students to work as overnight counselors, day counselors, program directors, campus nurse, kitchen staff and maintenance. Beaver Cross is specifically looking to hire IV students! If you are interested in this great opportunity to share fellowship, spread the love of God and have an amazing summer, contact the Youth Director of Ministry, John Iseman at jiseman@ctkcenter.org.

Friday Night Large Group (CELEBRATION) This Friday for Large group we will be celebrating all God has done this semester with a party! Come join us at Clarkson University’s Adirondack Lodge at 7pm. We are really looking forward to this end of the year party and can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces there too! This is a great opportunity for Clarkson students to take a break from studying and relax, worship and share fellowship. This is also a great opportunity for Potsdam students to get a change of scenery and see a beautiful spot on Clarkson’s campus. Rides leave the Student Union at 6:45pm.

Thank you! I just wanted to end the email with a quick thank you to the Potsdam and Clarkson Chapters for being so welcoming this year! You have helped me further my faith and meet some pretty awesome people. I especially want to thank you for giving me opportunity to write weekly emails. While it may seem like a mundane task, it has provided me time to speak to the Lord and hopefully touch some of you. I hope you all have an awesome summer (hint hint Basileia will be awesome) and I can’t wait to see the underclassmen in the fall. Good luck seniors, trust in God and you will be saved.

In His Eternal Love,

Sarah Lilholt, IV Administrator
