Kente cloth is known in French as "pagne baoulé".
A lot of Ghanaian Kente Cloth is now machine made but Ivorian Kente Cloth is still hand made in the villages around Yamoussoukro.

Pagne Baoulé is always sold in pairs, one of the cloths is wound around the shoulder and midriff and the other is worn as an ankle-length skirt.
