Our mission is to facilitate the sharing of information and resources related to instructional technology to empower PreK-16 educators to enhance teaching and learning.
ITUG is a group which focuses on instructional technology and its uses in education. The group has been in existence since 2000 and currently listserv membership numbers almost 350. In the past regular meetings were held, but the demands of the classroom and of families made it difficult for members to attend; the listserv, however, has flourished and the support and networking have been invaluable.
Members are welcome to post comments, questions, thoughts, and ideas and remarkably, they usually get a response in less than 20 minutes! For just-in-time support, that seems pretty remarkable. Discussion encompasses a wide range of member-driven topics: software, hardware, peripheral equipment (cameras, printers, networking), teaching strategies, websites, vendors, conferences, grants, and job opportunities. All Delaware IT activities that are relevant to educators are posted here first.
Wendy Modzelewski of the Delaware Center for Educational Technology (DCET) facilitates the group. There are no member dues, rules or regulations. Vendors are welcome and active members of our listserv. We respect that vendors have a wealth of knowledge to share and also that many enthusiastically support education through outreach that is above and beyond the marketing of products. We ask only that they refrain from advertising and/or selling products through the listserv, as this was never the intent of the list.
