The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is the only career planning resource that allows students (10-12 grade) to explore multiple paths to success (e.g., college, certificates, apprenticeships program, licensure programs, or the military).

LEARN ABOUT SKILLS & APTITUDES: The ASVAB CEP helps students identify career goals, future education goals, identify colleges and other postsecondary training programs necessary for a specific occupation and much more.

GRADUATION PATHWAY REQUIREMENT: To meet the ASVAB graduation pathway option, students must meet the minimum score of 31 (updated annually) on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT).

THE COLLEGE TOUR

A TV series by Emmy-nominated and multi-award-winning producers. The series tells the story of colleges and universities around the world.​ Each episode of The College Tour will focus on a single college or university.


A few scholarship organizations ask us to nominate one or more students for their scholarship(s) before they will receive a student's scholarship application. Students interested in being considered for a scholarship opportunity that requires a nomination, must complete the following by OCTOBER 10, 2021:

WSU Regents Scholar Program

Issaquah High School will submit 2 nominees who plan to attend WSU during the 22-23 AY. The nominees, who complete the WSU application process for the program, will receive a Regents Scholars award, which provides $4,000 per academic year for four years. Those students will then compete for the Distinguished Regents Scholars Award, which covers full tuition and fees for four years, approximately $42,000.

If the student is nominated, they will be notified by their counselor no later than OCTOBER 22, 2021. WSU will send an email (within 24 hours of nomination) to the nominee inviting them to submit an application by NOVEMBER 5 to be considered for the scholarship. WSU will notify the winners by mid-December.

Great Careers Conference

The Great Careers Conference goal is to educate students in grades 9-12 on careers they can pursue through certificate and 2-year degree programs.
This event is free, includes transportation to and from Bellevue College, lunch and materials.

If you’re interested in becoming a firefighter, Eastside Fire & Rescue is starting a new Fire Explorer program and recruiting students now.
Grades 9th - 12th are eligible to participate.
Students will learn about emergency management, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, community service and much more. This will be a 20 week course October – February with two drills a month on Wednesday’s after school.
The NACAC National College Fair is free and open to the public.

Western Aerospace Scholars

Application Due 10/30
The Western Aerospace Scholars (WAS) program was designed by NASA as a way for HS sophomores and juniors to learn about more about Earth and Space Science, Space Exploration and STEM careers! Phase One of WAS is offered online, enabling any qualified student in Washington State to participate. Students who participate in the program have the option to earn 5 credits from UW in Earth and Space Science. More information and applications links are available at www.museumofflight.org/WAS.

IHS PSAT Day

Students in 10th and 11th grade will take the PSAT on October 16, 2019 at Issaquah High School. The cost is $16 and scholarships are available. The fee for the PSAT will be added to all 10th and 11th grade student accounts after testing. ​

From brainstorming topic ideas, tackling common challenges, and learning how to refine your ideas, this workshop will address “all things essays.” If you haven’t yet started your essay or are in the editing stages, this application will help you take your essay from good to great. We will also offer up some tips for starting to look for scholarships.

The HSBP is a student-led requirement with the majority of the grade-level assignments completed in Career Cruising. In order for the student to meet the annual requirements, the completion bar (found on the home page of the student's portfolio) should show 100% for freshman, sophomore, and juniors, and for seniors by December 1, 2020. Any previous years' assignments, must be completed to meet the HSBP graduation requirement. NOTE: The Senior Exit Interview requirement is waived for the Class of 2021 due to COVID-19.

Organized by The Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, the goal of the conference is to educate high school students about careers they can pursue through on-the-job training, certification, apprenticeship, or two-year degree programs.

The day is filled with speakers in student-elected career pathways, soft skills integration, and exhibitors representing apprenticeship programs, military, certificated programs, and colleges with 2-year degrees.
