    "Chemins de Couleurs”
    Curator: Françoise Cousin

Resist-dye textiles of cultures from the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania. This exhibition illustrates the wide variety of aesthetical choices (material fibers, colours, motives) made by different societies using just a simple principle with a paucity of tools. It also presents the social background through the conditions of use of different textiles.

On display will be nearly 100 textiles from the collections of musée du quai Branly and on loan frommusée Guimet. From the AMERICAS - Peru (archaelogical), Mexico, Argentina; AFRICA -  Morocco, Cameroon, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo; ASIA - Syria, Iran, Pakistan, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan; OCEANIA - Vanuatu
