You are cordially invited to participate in a public debate on “The Digital Economy e-Friction” on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 5:00 pm at Campus de l’innovation et du sport Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, bloc C room C244 (Mathaf facing the Security General Building).

“2016 marks the start of the implementation of the UN’s SDGs, and the Digital Economy comes super high on the world’s agenda. In 2013, ICANN commissioned the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to commission a study on the e–Friction factors that hinder the progress of the Digital Economy. The report came out with 4 factors that hinder the progress of the Digital Economy:

  • Infrastructure (50% of the problem);
  • Individual (16.6% of the problem);
  • Information (16.6% of the problem); and
  • Industry (16.6% of the problem).

Mr. Fahd Batayneh, Stakeholder Engagement Manager – ICANN Middle East will present the findings of the BCG report on e-Friction. The presentation will be followed by a panel debate moderated by Mr. Gaby Deek with a panel of distinguished speakers, including Dr. Charbel El Kareh, Mr. Nabil Bukhalid, Dr. Nabil Fahd and Mr. Mohamed Najem.
