Welcome to ISDDE 2013!

This year’s conference, Inspiring Design, was named for its dual meaning.  We will gather to share the inspirations for our educational designs and the designs that inspire us.  Drawing on inspiration from within and outside the educational field, we will explore multiple avenues towards inspiration and the innovative designs it catalyzes.

The conference will take place from October 7-10, 2013 in Berkeley, California, USA.  The venue for the conference will be the Lawrence Hall of Science  at the University of California, Berkeley. Situated atop the hills overlooking the UC Berkeley Campus and the San Francisco Bay,
the Lawrence Hall of Science is a picturesque and fitting venue for the focus of this conference.  The conference will draw upon the intellectual, experiential, collaborative, and aesthetic opportunities for inspiration afforded by this location and the region it is a part of.

ISDDE 2013 is the ninth annual conference of The International Society for Design and Development in Education (ISDDE).  ISDDE was formed to help educational designers around work effectively as a coherent professional design and development community. The goals of the Society are (1) improving the design and development process (2) building a design community and (3) increasing our impact on educational practice.
