Cloud computing is the emerging trend in the field of distributed / enterprise computing.  Cloud plays an important role in huge organizations in maintaining huge data with limited resources. Cloud also helps in resource sharing through some specific virtual machines provided by the cloud service provider.  Services computing are a major part of the IT industry today. Companies are increasingly focusing on their core expertise area and use IT services to address all their operational needs. The emerging paradigm of cloud computing provides a new service delivery platform. One of the latest challenges is how to work with service computing in a cloud computing environment. Meanwhile, the convergence of service computing and cloud computing is also becoming a major driving force for the adoption of both of these technologies.

This symposium aims to bring out the challenges and possible solutions to the problems in cloud and service with respect to IT sector.  The goal of Symposium on Cloud and Service Computing 2012 (ISCOS 2012) is to bring together, researchers, developers, government sectors, and industrial vendors who are interested in cloud and service computing. The symposium will provide a forum for interested parties to exchange ideas and latest research results towards the rapid development of cloud and services computing technologies. A broad spectrum of issues of cloud and services computing will be addressed.

NITK, Surathkal, a reputed Institute is pleased to announce the organizing of this International Symposium ISCOS 2012 in its coastal campus during December 17-18, 2012.  This Symposium is Technically co-sponsored by IEEE India Council Computer Society and the Computer Society of India - Bangalore Chapter.

We cordially invite academic, research, and industrial contributions. We welcome technical papers presenting research and practical results, papers addressing the pros and cons of technological solutions,  papers addressing the key research problems with potential / experimental solutions on any of the  topics given below.
