A few nights ago I was outside to gather footage of the events there.
Two disconnected things happened. I do not see them as being related, so I will treat them chronologically.
First, early in my efforts that evening, I met a man named Timothy, who told me that he knew me back in the 90’s and has been following my writings online of late. I was hoping to have a pleasant conversation with him, but, well, events interceded and prevented further conversation. It is my hope that he will make another effort to contact me. The best option would probably be through the Internet, since you can find me on Google+.
The other thing that happened was that, as I was filming, the camera was ripped out of my hands and repeatedly smashed to pieces against the sidewalk concrete. The image you see here is the extent of the physical harm that was done to me as a result of the attack. These last days have been a struggle, and I do crave your prayers, and not only for myself, but for the attacker as well.
People who physically attack cameramen are usually afraid of the existence of physical evidence of what they have been doing. I do understand matters of privacy. Really. I do. But when you come around a place that gathers donations through a television station contained in that place, cameras will be trained. They are there, they are in use, and you cannot honestly expect to never get caught in their footage. If you don’t want to be caught on camera why would you go where you know that cameras are being used? Think about it.
I also have a request to report. Lately the power supply on my laptop has not been getting properly recognized on a consistent basis. I use a Dell Latitude D520, with a Dell power supply that is shaped so that you can wrap the power cord around the supply. When it does not get properly recognized, though, the clock speed gets cut in half, and the battery will not charge. For a laptop, that presents a problem. Therefore, I must ask, if anyone is willing to donate such a working power supply to the cause, I would greatly appreciate it.
I have also been looking for some encouragement. God, this morning, provided. I was speaking with another man in the ministry, Sam Peak, who announced to me, and gave me permission to announce to you, that yesterday, he was taken off all medications, and was pronounced Cancer Free. He had suffered from Colon Cancer, but is now 18 months Cancer Free.
Praise God!
