Prea3D is a software for the analysis and design of mooring systems (a.k.a. anchoring systems). Developed for the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES), Prea3D is used in mooring operations in deep waters and in the construction of simulation models. Due to its graphical user interface, Prea3D was chosen as the model construction tool of the Numerical Offshore Tank Program, which is a collaboration between Petrobras and many Brazilian universities.
Prea3D was my first project at Tecgraf (Jul 2001 – Dec 2002) and my primary responsibility was software development. More specifically, I was responsible for the development of graphical user interfaces for numerical routines implemented in Prea3D and also for the visualization of simulation results.
This software uses C++ and Lua as programming languages.
A few screenshots of Prea3D are shown below. The first picture shows the mooring system of the P-53 oil platform. The second pictures show examples of irregular seabeds.
Responsibility:
Designed and implemented the graphical user interfaces for numerical routines
Designed and implemented the the graphical user interfaces for the visualization of simulation results
Designed and implemented a module for construction of floating objects used in numerical analysis.
