Group 1's project website designed to manage and track all progress up until completion

Objectives of the "Information Systems Students for Community" (ISSC) program:
  • Encourage senior information systems students to be more community service oriented and take pride in the opportunity to utilize their technology skills to serve the needs of the local community.
  • Provide the opportunities for technical assistance, in a more systematic way, to local or regional organizations, particularly non-profit organizations, in their technology projects, which otherwise may not be realized because of other resource or personnel constraints.
These objectives were me through the development of a UWEC hosted web page coded with Ruby on Rails.  The website provides the mechanism for community organizations to easily submit project request which, after review/vetting by IS faculty, and staff in the Service Learning, are set out in a prioritized list.  Student teams may choose from this list to match their interests and abilities.
