Mazatlan, located on the west coast of Mexico, has half a million residents. It is an important commercial fishing seaport.

It is also a popular tourist destination.  In fact, the city is almost divided into two parts: "Zona Dorado", the Golden Zone, where the high rise all-inclusive resorts are located, and the historical center of "Old Mazatlan."

This travel guide is for the central Historical Mazatlan district.  If you've ever wanted to explore Mexico and avoid the standard tourist traps, this site is for you.

Mazatlan is a lovely town.  If you're looking for a destination that's peaceful, relaxing, fun, and authentic, definitely consider Mazatlan for your next trip.  You can have a great time here without doing much of anything or spending a lot of money.  And, there are activities that will make almost everyone happy.

Here you can find more than just Mazatlan information.  You can read tourist tips applicable no matter where you go, you can read about Mexican food, and you can even take some sassy Spanish lessons for your next trip to any-Spanish speaking country.  And keep checking back for new content: new Spanish lessons and tourist tips will be updated and added to constantly, as will other topics.  You can also look at other travel resources we highly recommend.
