Kerry-O are running the Inaugural Irish Sprint Orienteering Championships in conjunction with the Shamrock O-ringen 2009.
The event will be held on a new and revised map of Ross Island with parking <1km from the event centre at Ross Castle.
Competitive starts are from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Non competitive runs from 5pm will be available.
The courses will be a combination of fine navigation with complex contour/rock/track features and medium running through open woodland terrain.

 Date: Fri 29th May (evening before Shamrock09)
 Venue: Ross Island, Killarney (re-mapped 2009), scale 1:5000
 Entry/ Registration: Entry and registration at the Shamrock Event Centre in Killarney Racecourse up to 7pm. ~approx 1km from Sprint Parking Costs: 10Eur/7Eur and 20Eur for family START TIMES ON ARRIVAL.. 1minute Intervals on each course The top 10 runners on each course will be seeded and start in reverse order between 7.50 & 8.00
 Start Times: Start times from 7-8pm for all competitors (non competitive runs from 5pm)

 Winning Times: 20 Minutes (or less) on each course                                                     
 Live Tracking:Live online tracking for the seeded runners will be uses (subject to technical issues) The race will be live on the internet, and shown on a screen at the event center. We will record and replay the race during the weekend festivities. (all seeded athletes must agree to carrying a small tracking device)
 Prize Giving:     Prize Giving on Saturday night as part of the Shamrock social sessions
