Well done to the Suirside Target sports shooters taking positions 1 and 2 overall today with BRC'S Matthew Canning coming 3rd. Please note our next shoot is the Nationals to be held on September 15th and 16th at the BRC range .

20 May 2012.
Results from the classification shoots on May 19th and April 28th have now been posted in the results page .
Thanks to everyone who came and competed yesterday , As it was a Saturday and in the middle of Communion/confirmation season and because of the rugby numbers were down on what we would expect.
When the shooting finally started there were some good scores put in . Well done to Dan Quinlan coming second in sbhr and for getting his first 5 in a row in turkeys ,
Well done also to Tommy Conroy with 5 in a rows on Chickens in Both events and to Matthew with a 10 in a row on pigs in SBR Matthew won both events on the day

Well done to Rachael Lawrie beating her dad in both events which had her smiling .Thanks to Brc for the use of their brilliant facilities and we hope to see a good turnout for the next shoot on Sunday June 17th.

The Nationals are scheduled for September 15th and 16th

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the National Championships 2011.  Well done also to our new junior member Alex Fitzpatrick of BRC Shooting Club, making himself known at the Championships a regular shooter of silhouettes these past few months as he took home two Gold Medals in B Class.

However it was Karl Dorney of BRC Shooting Club and Mike Power of Suirside Target Sports who secured the coveted prizes and titles of the day.

Karl Dorney secured the Smallbore Silhouette Rifle Title while Mike Power secured the Smallbore Hunting Rifle Title and Overall Aggregate Title.

Both matches were hard fought due to the tail end of Hurricane Katia introducing herself to the Emmerald Shore and not letting up by much on Day 1 of the event.  While Day 2 had some calmer weather it was still tricky to get a smooth run at the targets.  Both Karl and Mike were leading at the end of Day 1 and they managed to hold onto this lead as Day 2 closed in and the final shots down range echoed that the Championships 2011 had come to a close.

Already we are looking forward to 2012.  Please click here to view the full results of the National Championships 2011 or view the PDF document attached.
