Jason Kovac Builds

Final images of the Cleminson Builds

Third Class

Starting to get my groups of figures installed and added the lamp vents.  Vents were 3D printed and painted.

If anyone is interested in fugures for theirs, these are casts specific for these coach benches.  Scaled to 1:20.3 and in groups of 4, 2 and 1.  Works out to about 5.00 per head. All are painted and resin cast.   Of course that is with buying a coach set.  He is making me Third class and First class passengers.

For some reason Google is rotating my image.  Sorry

Rebuild of a IP Engineering G Van

I have acquired some IP Isle of Man cars that I decided needed to be repaired and corrected while I had to replace the wheels.  Being the car is designed with glue in axleboxes many parts were destroyed trying to get the wheels out.  So some cutting and rebuilding I will have a much more suitable car in the end.   Ivan was kind in getting me replacement axlebox /iron castings but after reviewing my goals I decided to laser cut and use my own castings for this car.

The first few images are of the body.  The walls and sides were cut down where the sill fillers were located as everything was just flush with the wagon siding.  I have the correct step on the frame and 4x5 filler.  Though I didn't chamfer the edge as it needs to be only between the vertical staves.  Maybe I will hand file them we will see.

Here you can see the car glued up with no chassis. I also reinforced the corners and side with some blocks glued in.  As this kit is just flat panels with no alignment you can easily mess up or pop a bad joint.  I use only wood glue in assembling any wood kits.

Here you can see the new frame coming together.  With my own laser cut parts, I needed the full height of the sole bars for mounting the irons and spring.

To be continued......

1/31/16  I finally got in my laser cuttings for the irons and will be starting to get back onto this shortly.
