| About Us: Although our roots date back to the 1990’s, the IOM15milgroup was established on-line in 2011 to provide a virtual ‘club house’ for enthusiasts interested in modelling the 3ft (and 2ft) gauge railways of the Isle of Man. Our current membership numbers close to 100 with a geographic spread across all the continents. Why choose 15mm to 1ft scale? Well it allows modelling the 3ft gauge Isle of Man railways at a precise scale using readily available 45mm gauge track. It's also expressed as 1:20.3 scale, or Fn3 scale by American model railroaders. Garden railways dominate this scale, with a choice of Live Steam, battery electric or DC track power being used. Whether a garden railway, indoor layout or static mantelpiece exhibit, we feel there is no better time to be modelling 3ft (and 2ft) gauge Isle of Man railways in 15mm (and 7/8 inch) scale than right now. A number of members operate garden railways or indoor layouts. The IOM15milgroup attends some of the many large-scale model railway exhibitions in the UK, including the National Garden Railway Show, but is here on-line to share information, ideas and inspiration. Like to Join Us? If you are interested in joining the IOM15milgroup, please email: railwayman at manx.net. Isle of Man railway modellers of any island-based Manx prototype in any scale / gauge are most welcome. Our models are predominantly 15mm scale using 45mm gauge track of course, but range from OOn3 (4mm scale using 12mm gauge track) up to 5 inch (42.3mm scale using 127mm gauge track). | STATION NOTICEBOARD
