DURATION OF THE COURSE : one academic year.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
PASS PERCENTAGE AND DIVISION
Division shall be awarded to the successful candidates on the aggregate marks obtained by him in accordance with the following scale, viz.
First Division : 60% and above
Second Division : 50% but less than 60%
Third Division : 40% but less than 50%
1. In a course there shall be four papers of 100 marks each, out of which 70 marks are earmarked for university main examination and 30 marks of assignments.
2. The minimums pass marks in assignments, in university main examination and in the total of assignments plus university main examination for each paper separately shall be 40%, 30% and 40% respectively.
3. A candidate failing in one paper shall be allowed to appear in supplementary examination (distance mode), as conducted by the university, If he/she shall be declared fail.
4. A candidate failing in more than one paper shall be declared fail. He/she shall be required to appear in all the components (assignments and university main examination) of all the paper of the respective course during the next or subsequent examination as conducted by the university.
5. The Kulpati, may if a candidate is failing at the examination or missing a division by one marks, condone deficiency of one mark where the deficiency is so condone, one mark shall no-where be added.

PAPER-I- PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
CHAPTER-1
THE CONCEPT OF PERSONALTY - Meaning and definition of personality. Determinants of Personality. Role of Heredity and Environment in personality development . Individual differences. Agents of socialization child's self-concept.
CHAPTER-2
THE NATURE OF DEVELOPMENT - Meaning and Definition of development. Significant facts about development. The orderly process of growth, parental development, process of birth, post-natal care.
CHAPTER-3
INFANCY PERIOD - Characteristics of infancy, adjustment of infancy. Psychological issue-trust Vs mistrust, parental attitudes and social attachments, sensory motor capacities of infant, beginning of personality.
CHAPTER-4
CHILDHOOD CHARACTERISTIC NAD BABYHOOD-personality Development tasks of babyhood, psychological crisis, autonomy Vs shame and doubt, physical emotional and language developments, social behavior, family relationship and development in babyhood.
CHAPTER-5
CHILDHOOD - Characteristics and Development, tasks of babyhood, psychological crisis, autonomy Vs shame and doubt, physical emotional and language developments, social behavior, family relationship and development in babyhood.

ADOLESCENCE - Definition, Psychology of the adolescence, development task of an adolescence, psychological crisis, group identity Vs alienation, individual identity Vs role diffusion, physical maturation, emotional and social changes
during adolescence, adolescence interest, ineternalized morality ,sex interest and role identity, family relations and personality.
CHAPTER-7
ADULTH - Characteristic and developments tasks in adulthood, psychological crisis- intimacy Vs isolation, changes in interest, sex role adjustments- vocational and marital adjustments, lifestyles and personality development, understanding and counseling youth.
CHAPTER-8
MIDDLE AGE : Characteristics of middle age – Development task Psychological crisis integrity Vs Despair- Adjustment to physical and mental changes adjustment to changed family patterns- importance of family counseling achievements- Emotional state and its effects on personality.
CHAPTER -9
OLD AGE: Characteristics of old age – major adjustment in old age common problems of old age and personal attitudes social system – welfare of the age – home for the aged counseling for the aged to except realities of life.
PAPER – II – PSYCHOLOGY OF ADJUSTMENT

ADJUSTMENT AND GROWTH: Adjustment, concept of adjustment and growth, personal growth variation, conditions for growth phenomenology of growth as a self actualization fulfilling our potential growth and risk.
CHAPTER -2
MOTIVATION: Concept of motivation push and pull motives, classification psychological motives and behaviors, awareness and changes of motives.
CHAPTER -3
