I am a lecturer in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at The University of Hong Kong. My main research interests include history and politics of oil, national security strategies of oil states, as well as China's search for energy security. I also works on contemporary inter-Korean relations. My works have either appeared or are forthcoming in The Pacific Review,International Studies Perspectives, and Foreign Affairs

I hold a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from University of Oxford and MSc in Politics of the World Economy from London School of Economics. I completed doctoral studies in Political Science at the George Washington University where I was also a research affiliate at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies (ISCS).  I am a former recipient of Fulbright Scholarship (2009-14), and previously taught as a lecturer at Korea Military Academy (2006-9).
