Dr. Takeshi Ogawa obtained a Ph.D in 2011 at Tohoku University. His interest was to understand a neuronal population dynamics with laminar profile in the primary auditory cortex of rodents, and his Ph.D thesis is entitled "A study on local neuro mass dynamics in the neocortex of rats". Since 2012, he has been working in Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), where he developed the brain machine interface in the real-world environment using portable electroencephalography (EEG) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) as a researcher.  Dr. Ogawa's main scientific interests are i) network dynamics at rest or task, ii) understanding of mechanisms associated with creative insight.
