Introduction to MicroStation

Print Version | Kindle Version

About the Book...

Welcome to the website for: Introduction to MicroStation: A Project-Based Approach for Learning MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3).

This book contains tutorials for the completion of

12 mechanical-type parts/drawings using the MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) software. In Part One of the book students will complete two-dimensional versions of the projects. In Part Two students will draw three-dimensional solids of the same parts. Techniques to use the program to convert the solids to orthographic (two-dimensional) views will also be discussed. In Part Three, these techniques will be used to complete the final project - a Robotic Gripper End Effector. This project consists of individual parts as well as 2D and 3D assembly views.

The book contains numerous screenshots that are used to aid in the learning of the software. The tutorials are written in a short, concise style without extra information. Commands are covered as they are used within the tutorials. The amount of work in the book is similar to what would be covered in a 100-hour course.
