Milwaukee Sentinel (May 15th, 1993)
Howard Rollins, co-star of the TV series "In the Heat of the Night," turned himself in to serve a 70-day sentence arising from repeated traffic violations near Conyers, Ga., where the program is filmed.
He surrendered Thursday. A warrant had been issued for probation violation stemming from his failure to appear in court on January charges of speeding and driving on a suspended license. He was on probation at the time from two drunken driving charges last fall.
Rollins' sentense could be cut in half with good behavior. Afterward, he will remain on probation, perform community service and undergo random drug tests.
