What is Internet Moderation?

Most everywhere you turn today, there is the opportunity to go online.   Whether it be on your phone, at a store, or in the privacy of your own home, the Internet has become embedded in many aspects of daily life. Due to the growing number of people logging online and the various facets it can be used for, many are finding its allure to be irresistible.  This in turn has led some people to problematically use the Internet.

This is where Moderation Management (MM) comes into play.  MM believes in two principles to remedy problematic Internet usage: harm reduction and early intervention.  When applying these two principles to the use of the Internet, Internet Moderation results.  This is when a person is taught how to adequately manage his or her Internet use prior to it turning into a "bad habit".

At Internet Moderation Therapies, you and your family could find the help and guidance you need to get your life back on track.  I offer individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing problematic technology use such as video game addiction, cell phone addiction, texting addiction, Internet addiction, and other forms of  problematic media and technology use.  If you believe you or your child/family member might be experiencing technology-based addiction, please contact me for help: ms.anna.dinoto@gmail.com or 425-390-4177.
